Bag (Box) of Magical Suppression
x.p. value 4,500

Have you ever wondered how you were going to get your magic items past those nosy mages and the nasty little detection spells? Is there a certain little cursed trinket that you have, and you need someplace to put it until you can dispose of it properly? Do you need a place to store your potions so they wont explode when you walk through a wall of moonlight?
Well then, this is the item for you -- the Bag of Magical Suppression. This fantastic item not only conceals its contents but it shuts down magical enchantments too. Just like flipping a switch, the magical item within becomes temporarily non-functional. Removing an item from the bag will return it to its fully-functioning state. No command words to memorize -- its fully automatic. The bag will also inhibit location- or divination-type spells from determining its contents or whereabouts.
It is actually a bag within a bag with a heavy liner (of an unknown material) between the two. When you place a magical item into the inner bag and pull the drawstring closed, the item's enchantment diminishes to the point where it is nearly undetectable through magical means. Pulling the outer bags drawstring closed nullifies the items magical effects completely. Because of the nature of this shielding," magic that would normally dispel, disrupt, or disenchant has no effect on the bag's contents. Please note, the power of this bag has its limits. If the bag comes in contact with an item of artifact strength, the bag will heat up and within 2 rounds explode furiously into flames, destroying the bag. DMs -- treat the explosion as a fireball with a base of 5HD plus 1/2HD for every function of the item to a maximum of 20HD.
A close, physical and magical examination of the bag will reveal nothing about the canvas outer portion. The linen inner bag will show variations of the Alteration and Abjuration schools of magic. Determination of the exact spells is impossible. The center liner is of an unusually heavy and quite possibly magically absorbent material. Possessing a well-made overall construction, there is little or no artistic craftsmanship present. It looks just like any other ordinary sack of its type. When closed, it is approximately 18 x 12 x 6 in size and able to hold about 0.75 cubic feet of material. It is also deceptively heavy, weighing in at 10 pounds. The contents should not exceed 40 pounds.
The Bag of Magical Suppression is treated as having Armor Class 7, has 20 hit points, and saves as follows: vs. Acid (11), Crushing Blow (n/a), Disintegration (19), Fall (n/a), Magical Fire (11), Normal Fire (9), Cold (2), Lightning (15), Electricity (2). The contents receive a +1 bonus to save vs. Crushing Blow and Fall.
There are also two Boxes of Magical Suppression believed to be in existence. The first is 2 x 2 x 2 and weighs 40 pounds. The second is 5 x 2.5 x 0.5 and weighs 35 pounds. Both would save as thick wood with a +1 bonus to all rolls.
