This 4" long silver whistle resembles a small smoking pipe, and is similar to the type of whistle that is typically used aboard a sailing vessel to call for the attention of the crew to assemble to be addressed by the captain or for certain duties. Under close examination, extremely small magical runes can be seen running along the length of the pipe. This whistle will also radiate slight alteration magic if detected.

When the whistle is blown aboard ship, it causes some unseen servants, as per the regular wizard's spell of the same name, to come into being. However, unlike dictates of the wizard's spell, there are two servants per use instead of one. These servants will immediately tend to all the normal mundane functions otherwise performed by a natural crew, such as swabbing the deck, cleaning and straightening up cabins, coiling loose ropes, etc., on all areas of the ship. This enables the crew to stick to the more pressing matters at hand.

This item maintains a very pristine ship. Pirates have been known to use it to mask the fact that they are indeed pirates, because it maintains the look of an ordinary clean merchant vessel. The whistle's magic may be used only once per day and lasts for eight hours. In that time, the servants will diligently go about their work uninterrupted unless a dispel magic is cast or the ship enters an anti-magic or dead magic zone. It will not work again until a whole twenty four hours has passed from the time the spell ends. This item is not common, but can be found for the right price. The item's magic will only work aboard a ship. If used anywhere else, it will act as a normal bos'ns whistle.
