Reintegration (Alteration, Necromancy)
Priest Spell - Level 6
Sphere: Necromantic
Range: 20 feet
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 5
Area of Effect: 1 creatures or object
Duration: Permanent
Saving Throw: None
With this spell, the priest is able to restore a disintegrated creature or object to its original form so long as the subject of the spell has not been disintegrated for more than 2 days per level of the caster. Furthermore, the spell is only effective if the "traces of fine dust" left after disintegration are present at the time of the casting (see the 6th level wizard spell for details). Magical constructs which were destroyed through the use of disintegration magic cannot be brought back by the use of this spell.
Inanimate objects which are reintegrated remain very weak and brittle for the first hour after reintegration (even slight stress or force will cause them to collapse); thereafter, they are completely normal in all respects.
A creature must roll a successful resurrection survival and system shock check in order to be reintegrated; failure of either roll indicates that the magic fails and the individual remains permanently disintegrated. If both checks are successful, the creature is immediately restored to life. However, the individual will be extremely weak and helpless upon reintegration: He or she will have only 1 hit point and need at least 2 full days of complete bed rest before any further healing (magical or natural) can take place. Furthermore, the creature loses one point of either strength or constitution and one point of either intelligence or wisdom (disintegration takes its toll on both mind and body) permanently. In both cases, there is a 50% chance to lose the point from either one or the other in each respective pairs.
The material components of this spell include the aforementioned fine dust left by the disintegration, a beholder's eye stalk which was specifically used by the creature to channel its disintegration magic, an amethyst of at least 500gp value, holy (or unholy) water, and the priest's holy symbol. The caster ages 2 years upon casting this spell.
