The following is a list of various encounters and situations that characters may run into while traveling between towns or between adventures. Roll a 1d100 to get a quick road encounter.

A slave caravan offering to sell the characters one of its slaves (at a high cost), or the slavers could try to capture the characters to sell at the next town |

A goat herder crossing his herd (1d100) blocking the characters' path |

A burned wagon laying in the road with humanoid footprints leading away |

A gypsy caravan setting up camp. They may invite the characters to join in their dancing and fun, or they may use the group for dinner |

A rough looking warrior in plate-mail armor riding a horse |
|
|
|
A shady looking elf offering to sell the characters a cache of magic items (he is an ogre-mage in disguise and will attack the group as soon as possible) |

An elven archer fixing his bow. He will ask to travel with the group for a while and will tell the group about the local area if asked |

A group of pilgrims traveling to the town the group just left (DM can determine the group size and religion) |
