The Shadowblade is a short sword made completely out of a unidentifiable black metal. The blade is etched with dark silver swirls and the hilt is finely crafted and appears to be made from the same metal as the blade. Its creator is only known as the Shadowmaster, an extremely powerful psionicist who tried to take over the world. The Shadowmaster used the Triad of Shadow, the Shadowblade, the Shadow Gem, and the Shadow Crown in his move for world domination. Only the Shadowblade and the Shadow Gem survived the final confrontation that the Shadowmaster had with the Order of the Way, a group of Lawful Good and Lawful Neutral psionicists.
The Shadowblade is a vicious thing with a sarcastic, mocking manner. It urges its possessor to do whatever it takes to find the Shadow Gem and to amass power. It delights in allowing the bearer to come close to death before taking the bearer away from the situation. The Shadowblade attempts to master any who claim it by making them utterly dependent on its powers.
The last known location of the Shadowblade was a small, secluded monastery of the Order of the Way on an island off the coast. It had been their for nearly 20 years before it was stolen.
