Weapon Enhancement
Master weaponsmiths can create swords that are works of beauty as well as destruction. A singing sword, in the hands of an expert, can create a melody from the flow of battle. Characters can take singing sword as a Perform skill, allowing bards to use it as a musical instrument in battle. Note to any character taking Exotic Weapon Proficiency: Singing Sword may unnerve opponents in battle. After three rounds of melee combat with an opponent (any adjacent opponent), a character making a successful melee attack may make a Perform skill check as a free action. If the opponent fails a Will save (opposed by the Perform check), they become shaken (-2 morale penalty on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, and saving throws) for the duration of the encounter. A character proficient in singing sword can use the unnerve ability on any type of singing sword he is proficient with.
A singing sword is created as a masterwork weapon (conferring a +1 bonus to hit) with a 600 gp masterwork component and a DC of 25 (Normal: 300 gp and DC 20 - only 1/3 price is required for raw materials). This ability may only be created as part of a sword blade.
