The Fiend Folio is yet another monstrous compendium from Wizards of the Coast. It adds more monsters for players to combat and even adds in a few other things as well.

This book includes over 150 new or updated monsters for D&D 3rd edition. The creatures range from very low on the Challenge Rating chart all the way to a rating of 25! This leaves quite a bit of room for any level of players in your game. As I’ve found with all WotC monster books, all of the creatures detailed here are of top quality, in both the descriptions and artwork. Some creatures even have tactics listed, showing how they would react to characters in a game. There’s something here for any DMs taste.

One thing to note: this book had been updated somewhat to reflect the new 3.5 rules. This has not been done completely as far as I can tell, but parts of the book have definitely been done with the new rules in mind. They also have bits and pieces that connect to the Deities and Demigods, Forgotten Realms, Oriental Adventures, and other books done by Wizards. I thought this was a nice addition, and helps connect the book to other campaigns sourcebooks and accessories that any DM may be using. There is also some information on Monster Prestige classes and Graft and Symbionts that can add flavor to any creature.

As with all the WotC Monster Compendiums so far, I would definitely recommend this book to any DM. It is always nice to add as much flavor and variety as you can (afford) to your campaign.
