In the Shadow of Dragons
Six-issue comic book series
Publisher: Kenzer and Company, $2.99 (each issue)
If youve been around as long as I have (not long, but long enough), youve probably seen the old D&D comics from years ago. Well, Kenzer and Company has brought them back again, and done a great job of returning my favorite role-playing game to the comic shop.
In the Shadow of Dragons revolves around the city of Rel Astra and the surrounding areas of Flanaess. Three blue dragons have laid siege to this city and are demanding The Last of My Father. Not knowing what this is, the townsfolk are in desperate times.
A group of so-called adventurers, consisting of a paladin, a swordswoman, a rogue, and an apprentice wizard, set forth to find help from Ealadhach, a renowned wizard who specializes in fighting dragons. Along the way, the group meets up with a tough dwarf, and elven ranger, and a blind druid. Overall, they are a very diverse and interesting group of characters.
The artwork, coloring, and lettering, and of course, the writing within the comic are all top notch. Its a real treat to find a D&D comic that has an interesting plot line and keeps the quality of the publication going from issue to issue.
Six issues in all (four are done, and two more are coming out soon), In the Shadow of Dragons is a delight for any D&D fan. If you like a good story, you cant go wrong with this series of comic books.
