AD&D Silver Anniversary Collector's Edition

AD&D Silver Anniversary Collector’s Edition
AD&D Game Accessory
TSR, Inc., $59.95

Those players and DM’s out there who enjoyed gaming material from the early days of TSR will find that this boxed set is just for you. It contains facsimiles of original modules: B2 Keep on the Borderlands, G1 Steading of the Hill Giant Chief, G2 The Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl, G3 Hall of the Fire Giant King, I6 Ravenloft, and S2 White Plume Mountain. All of these modules are reprints of the originals, but with some of the artwork taken out, making them smaller in size. The adventure text is completely intact though, which is what made these modules great in the first place.

Also included in the box set is a replica of the original blue-cover D&D rulebook. This is a complete copy, down to the listing of old products on the back cover. While not very useful unless you’re still playing plain D&D, it’s still a nice look back to where many of us starting gaming.

Next we have ‘The Story of TSR,’ a 32-page book outlining the history of TSR from its humble beginnings to early 1999. It’s interesting historical reading, and includes pictures of the people and places of TSR.

A special art print of a red dragon is also enclosed with the set. It’s an excellent print, measuring 8 by 11 inches, suitable for framing.

The last thing included in this set is what TSR claims to be ‘the last 1st edition module to ever be printed!’ L3 Deep Dwarven Delve is the equivalent of a lost episode, being a never-before-released 1st Edition module that was found in TSR’s vaults. If you have a group that still plays 1st Edition, and I know that many do, you’ll want to get a copy of this boxed set just for this wonderful module.
